Love/Hate Relationship

Annabelle definitely has a love/hate relationship with her swaddle blanket. You see, she LOVES to sleep like this:



But, inevitably, she'll whack her face, scare herself, and wake up like this:

So, we'll swaddle her like this:



Oh how she fights it! She squiggles all around, grunts, and groans. But, eventually, she falls asleep. And she stays asleep! Then, she wakes up like this:



Happy, rested Baby = Happy, rested Mama!

Another New Face

Last Friday, Annabelle and I went to have lunch with my Nana - Annabelle's Great Nana! Annabelle is Great Nana's 8th great-grandchild!



Mimi joined us, as Nana lives adjacent to Mimi's hospital.



We had a wonderful time visiting with Great Nana - and Great Nana was so proud to show Annabelle off to her friends at her home. :)

Baptism

It's been a while now, but on June 13 (also my birthday!), Annabelle was baptized! It was a very special day, not only because of the ceremony, but because Papa Bill was able to do the water portion. I had many friends at church tell me that they were teary when Papa Bill kissed Annabelle's little wet head afterwords.

Welcome to the family of God, little one!

Ready to Laugh!

For a few weeks now, Annabelle has had the biggest smile going on! We just love when she smiles with her whole face - her eyes crinkle up and her mouth is wide open.



We just know that any day, sound will erupt out of that wide open mouth! Stay tuned - we'll let you know when it happens!

Happy Father's Day!

Joel's first Father's Day! We had a great time celebrating with Grandpa and Great-Grandpa!



Annabelle is so blessed to have a wonderful Dad!

2 Months Old

Hard to believe! At her 2 month check up, we found out that she's 10 pounds, 14 ounces (50th percentile) and 23.5 inches (90th percentile). Long and lean! And most importantly, healthy!!

Crazy Two Weeks!

Wow - going back to work was crazy! It was wonderful seeing my students again, but so hard to leave Annabelle every day. I got some great advice though - make your goodbyes short and your hellos long! It worked. :)

Luckily, I never had to worry about my Angel Face - she was in the great hands of grandparents! Annabelle met Grandma for the first time - and got very acquainted with her, as Grandma babysat Annabelle for a week.



Annabelle was VERY comfortable with Grandma:



One day, Grandma was joined by Papa Bill. I'm not sure who had a better time!

The following week, it was Mimi and Grandpa's turn!





It was great to see my friends and students at school, but I'm sure glad to be with my baby again!

Finally!

Annabelle can entertain herself a little bit! I can put her down on this fun activity mat, and she moves around, hitting the toys, and loves to look at the lights and listen to the music.





This is great news for Mommy, as I can actually get some stuff done around here! Yea!

She's getting so big!

I'm sure I will say this at least 1000 times in the next several years, but Annabelle is growing so fast! Although she's still mostly wearing Newborn size clothes, she has definitely outgrown the Newborn size pajamas. Check this out:



So these are the same cute pajamas in two sizes. The one on the left is the Newborn and the one on the right is the 0-3 month. She wore the Newborn until last night! The 0-3 is still big on her, but the Newborn definitely does not fit. Oh my goodness!! My little girl is already getting so big!!
